Hi! I’m Michelle. Also known to some as Mimi (or Mishka, or Michelley).
I love food. I love cooking, baking and eating food and I especially love sharing food with my family and friends. Food has a way of connecting people. Those connections are so important to me.
There are a lot of food blogs – I know. I follow a ton of them! But, I figured there was room for one more! My hope, is that in some small way, you will find inspiration from this blog and deepen your connections through food.
While I’m not a vegetarian, pescatarian, or vegan I do try to eat a healthy and balance diet. That includes treats, every so often (ok, maybe a bit more than every so often!). I’ll feature fresh, local Ontario produce whenever possible and will offer substitutes to white sugar and floor as alternatives if it fits.
I’ll share recipes that I keep close to me – those passed down from family and friends. I’ll also share new recipes, some found and some original, that I enjoy making and eating.
I’m not new to food blogging. A few years back, I started Spoonfuls of Fun. Mimi Eats is an extension of that blog, just at a different point in time. While I’m not a chef, I’ve been cooking for years and truly enjoy making food. As for the photography, well that’s a bit more touch and go. I’m just going to learn as I go. This should be fun!
I live in Oakville with my three girls (15, 10 and 10), my husband and black lab, Zeke. When I’m not cooking, I enjoy making quilts (a new found hobby), yoga and dreaming of jumping off a dock, somewhere in Muskoka!
